Evans is a research psychologist whose professional activities have covered a wide range of health education and health service quality program topics. These have involved populations of newborns, young children, school-age youth, young and older adults, patients with chronic disease, and individuals at the end of life. With state, community, and organization leaders, he has collaborated on systems development, strategic planning, and workforce development, applying research and evaluation findings to better understand and improve health services for people of all ages. He is currently a member of the board of directors of Mountain Family Health Centers and chair of the board of directors of Mind Springs Health. Evans is a senior researcher with Community Health Initiatives in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and co-evaluator of community development projects associated with Allina Health in Minneapolis, Minn., that are concerned with community development for health status improvement of socio-economically disadvantaged people.
